JOB DESCRIPTION
Position/Job Title: Training Manager, China
Reporting to: Training Manager, AP Academy- (HONGKONG)
Working Location: Shanghai/Tianjin
OVERALL PURPOSE/MAJOR FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The main function is to execute the specific plans of AP Academy in the designated area of assignment, which is the technical side. Specific focus will be on planning, conducting, evaluating and tracking of training programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES:
(Describe the primary or major duties & responsibilities that the position will perform)
· Conducts and facilitates training for the area and may train course facilitators as needed
· Make sure that the training programs achieve desired goals through formative and summative evaluation
· Supports the leader and the team in conducting assessment discussion and diagnostic interviews with the key staff and local managers to determine the current training needs and priorities.
· Helps analyze the needs of the target employees to be trained and determine the constraints.
· Together with the HR OD team and identified subject matter experts, formulates learning objectives, make recommendations on instructional approach and help define information contents for each identified topic/module, following the template and process endorsed by the HR OD team
· Together with the subject matter experts, develops instructional materials or assembles pre-existing materials. These instructional materials include training materials, kits, manuals, visual aids

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Behavioral Sciences
Minimum Job Experience Required: Minimum of 5-7 years actual hands-on experience in 1 or 2 major business units of the company namely Industrial Coatings and/or Refinish or from a 7- 10 years from similar industry outside company
Actual experience (3-4 yrs minimum) in training and/or Organizational Development
Skills / Competencies: Well-grounded knowledge and understanding of the business challenges, products and services through years of work experience with PPG (or gained experience from other companies outside company but of similar industry type)
Ability to employ latest trends in content development and training conduct and tailor-fit these according to the unique culture of the company and its complex organizational structure and aggressive business challenges.
Effective floor and training skills, facilitation skills
Public speaking and public relations
Basic principles of sales and marketing
English Speaking preferable
Ability to communicate effectively in local language
Basic PC (computer) skills
